| How
Your NCWD Water Rates are Determined: |
To
aid in your understanding of how your water rate amounts are
determined from month to month, we will explain the Water Availability
Charge and Usage Tiers that are used when calculating your
monthly water bill. Included for reference are various examples
based on average usage and meter size within the District.
|
| Water Availability Charge: |
| Every
District customer is assigned a base monthly charge. The base
charge is determined by the size of your existing water meter.
You can find your meter size by viewing the face of your meter,
or by referencing the “Meter
Size” field located on your monthly bill. |
Example: The typical residential meter size within the District is a ¾” meter. A customer with such a meter is billed a water availability charge of $17.04 a month, regardless of how much water is used.
|
| Other Charges Based on Water Consumption: |
| Energy Charge is for the electricity and gas required to pump water. The Charge is based on water consumption. |
| Infrastructure Charge is a Replacement Surcharge for necessary upgrades to existing water storage, production and delivery facilities. |
| CLWA Surcharge is a Surcharge for the purchased water from Castaic Lake Water Agency. |
